Rationale

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing quality childcare it has become necessary for us to take pictures of activities at the club that will include children.

We need to demonstrate and provide evidence to outside agencies such as Ofsted and future parents and children of the club of the work we do at the club and that standards are being met

Aim

To ensure that parents, carers, children and staff are secure in the knowledge of

  • Why photographs are being taken
  • By whom
  • Who will have access
  • Where photographs will be kept
  • Gain permission

Policy

We will:

  • Inform parents/carers that we intend to take photographs of children and the reason why
  • Gain personal permission by asking parents/carers to sign consent form
  • Photographs will only be taken by members of staff or committee of the club or the legitimate press
    • Who have been cleared through police checks/CRB procedures
    • Or in the presence of other staff or committee members who have been cleared through police checks/CRB procedures
  • Photographs and negatives remain at the club in an album or on file and secured in locking filing cabinet
  • Photographs will not be reproduced without gaining further written consent

This policy is to be used in conjunction with our Child Protection and Confidentiality Policies.
